AOTEAROA – ELITE WORLD CHAMPIONS 2016

On Day 2 of the Hawaiian Airlines IVF World Elite Sprint Championships, the Aotearoa Elite teams delivered on the many hours of training by achieving outstanding results! After a disappointing DQ on Day 1, the Elite Men’s team bounced back with a 2 second win over Tahiti in the V6 500m final to be crowned World Champions.  Not to be outdone, the Elite Women’s team followed that up with a gold in the V6 500m final, becoming World Champions too, and just to prove a point, the Elite Women showed complete domination in their win in the V12 500m final.

The Elite J19 Women won gold in their V6 500m final to become Junior World Champions, with the Elite J19 Men taking out bronze in the V6 500m final against some of the rising stars of French Polynesia.

Other results included a bronze for the Elite Men 1500m final and silver for the Elite J19 Men 1000m final.
